Two down, two more to go.

I looked at the History paper, and I laughed.

Bet I'll eat my words if Ms Ng or Ms Kaur can't read my handwriting.

The last of my models for the 1,500 pt IG army have been assembled... just in time for CTs. Damn. Well, At least I know I can depend on painting them to help de-stress from time to time.

So yeah, manaaged to watch the England V.S. Equador. Nothing much, England still not playing up to expectations, save a long overdue shot by Beckham and a nice tackle by Ashley Cole that prevented Equador from getting a goal in. Paul Robinson did a David Seaman and injured himself catching a ball. Well, at least he saved that goal.

Cameras show Beckham vomiting on the field, says that he was suffering from dehydration even before the match. But he still played on. Are they trying to make a hero out of him or something? But let's no be too hard on him yet, he had to perform during this match to counter his critics. As said, ironically he was subbed out for Lennon during the last three minutes, just as his critics have wanted. Wow.

Sven tried out his funky new 4-1-4-1 formation, but I think the team under-performed to really show the world what that formation is made of. Sure, they kept their possession and passes mostly found their target... Well, next is Portugal. People who watched THAT match know that Portugal is down two men, and I don't know, is Christiano Ronaldo injured or something? That thigh has got to hurt.

And guess what? The match is this Saturday at 11. Right after CTs. Woohoo!

Damn proud of my Imperial Guard army liao, pity abt the Kasrkins. I think I'm going to need a huge bucket of Dettol to redo them.

On a completely different note, England V.S. Sweden. I seriously don't know what to say about England ah, but I don't think they're going to last long. Owen got himself a knee injury in just one minute, Rooney's throwing a tantrum and the English defense deserves to be shot. Makes me wonder why they brought Campbell in the first place, that fool let in the Sweden equalizer goal by jumping at the wrong time. And so close to an English victory too.

But England was great in the first half. Their ball play was superb man, and the goal by J.Cole, brilliant. But when Gerrard came in (swapping Rooney, cue in the boot-throwing sequence) in the second half, the formation beocmes 5 midfield? Leaving poor Crouch as the sole striker? What chance does England have?

As I said for the T&T match, everytime the opposing team attacks it's damn scary for England. Ok, so Terry did make that goal line clearance in T&T and Gerrard in Sweden, but some goals were just in-excusable.

At least England now faces Equador, I don't think they'll last if they played Germany.

Nothing much to update about, except that my Imperial Guard Army might take some time to be completed, owing to the fact that I need at least 2 command squads before I can get the army on the table. Necrons have it so much easier.

But yeah, having lots of fun painting the figures, it's great for relaxing in the midst of the storm that is CT's revision... On a different note, AMK Library Gallilee Cafe has become my haunt, I mean the staff knows what I want when I approach the counter. "Ice Latte Hazelnut?"

World Cup match: England V.S Trinidad and Tobago (hope I got that spelt right)

Anyway, I watched this match with little expectations, never really heard about the T&T, so I kind of figured that they were a weak team.

Part truth.

Their defense held Sweden at 0-0, and they got a couple of good players in there. However, their offense leaves much to be desired. Frankly, I don't know what to decide. They refused to attempt to get the ball, but when they do my heart was in my mouth when they attacked. I remember checking the shots checklist, England 16 : T&T 5 at one point. All 5 of these shots were DAMN close. One of them would have scored if not for Terry and his lucky boot. One of them strikers was in a tussle with Terry and another defender, can't remember who, when the ball came their way. Robinson no where in sight. The striker nudged the ball in with his head, and would have gotten the goal when Terry stuck his foot out and cleared it out into the playing field. Eveyr England fan must have screamed with joy. Imagine the shame if T&T had the one point lead, and England did not seem anywhere near scoring any goals.

'sides from that, the match was pretty interesting, seeing the England team attack again and again... Beckham was pretty off-form early game, a couple of shots landed the ball in T&T's possession, but late game he got better. He better. Anyway, the rest of the team was pretty off form as well, Owen missed a couple of good shots, and Crouch was just too tall. In the end, they subed Rooney in to replace Owen (thank goodness) and Lennon to replace Carraghas (I think). Oike 20 mins after that, Beckham landed a cross into the penalty area and Crouch finally headed a ball in. Frankly I couldn't believe my eyes.

Rooney was still off-form, I blame his foot. However, in like 10 mins after that, England socred another goal. Can't remember if it was Gerrard or Lampard, the latter kept trying to score from the penalty area. Almost got in too, no thanks to the goalkeeper and a couple of shots that was WAY off. So yeah, England got themselves a two point lead, no need to worry since it was so late game and T & T is not offensive enough to attempt to equalize.

Wrong. T & T came along and scored a goal agst England. Fortunately, the goal was disallowed because of offside. Woohoo!

In the end, T & T couldn't attack fast enough. The match was England's. Next is Sweden.
This whole week has been band band band, so I know I must blog about it. It all starts with a three day two night band chalet, then the piece de resistance, the invesiture. A bit different than standard investiture from RIMB, but memorable nonetheless. 'sides, I'm in a writing mood. My RP posts are finally exceeding form space again.

So yeah, first off the chalet. Went the first day, the first day was actually dominated by J1s. Lester was the only J2, then Richard came along at night. We spent the first day playing bridge, playing X Box, eating pizza, playing more bridge, then huddling around a torchlight to play Mafia and telling each other spooky tales. I took delight in being gamemaster for Mafia, but the alcohol I had earlier prevented from thinking of more ways to 'kill' the victims off. In the end I think I repeated a couple of killings. What to do? I don't take 43% alcohol often. Can't be as bad as Venetia though, her face went red after half a cap full. Argh don't kill me.....!

Anyway, the batch decided to squeeze all into one room. kind of successful, but that's cos Enyi and I decided to stay out of the room. I had enough sleep when the batch was chatting, and Enyi just didn't feel like sleeping. We ended up playing Gin Rummy with Lester and Richard who were happily mugging DURING chalet.

Morning of the second day, we had cornflakes for breakfast. The batch that could wake up by then went off to the beach to catch the sunset while stubborn me remained behind to defeat Count Dooku. Call me anti-social, but I finally cleared that level, k. Stubborn stubborn stubborn. Anyway, when the rest of the batch woke up, I remember going up to the room to nap since there was nothing to do. Woke up a bit for lunch, then went back to sleep again. Woke up to GM a round of Mafia, before preparing for the BBQ. Found out there was a lot to learn abt BBQing, at least I now know how to start a fire.

After BBQ, half of the batch went to the beach. A few remained behind to watch the seniors play Winning Eleven. Then a few of these few went off to join the rest, while a couple went off in a totally different direction. Freaked the three of us who remained out, so I and Yi Heng went to look for the batch that went to the beach. We eventually found them, after we walked out to the beach and they shouted for us from the chalet -.- so anyway, we decided to form a search party to look out for the missing two, Narishka and Jasmine. Two small girls. Out there alone. Not very comforting. So we called out for them, decided to turn in the other direction, sent a couple back to the chalet cos of a twisted ankle, and continued. We eventually managed to contact them, turns out they had walked out a long way, couldn't see the chalet. We decided to meet them on the main road, and brought them back to the chalet. Sure hope I didn't turn out too fierce on the both of them. I bet i sounded like a old woman.

Anywaaay... we had less problems squeezing into a room, since a large grp of us went to watch the Brazil Croatia match, but it was so boring that a couple of us including me went up to sleep first. Third day morning we played a little more ps before checking out and going back home. Jasmine, Enyi and Shaun went over to Fatimah's house to bake, not too sure abt Jeff. Oh, did I mention the scandals during the chalet?

So, investiture. Turned up late, but a good thing it hadn't started. Didn't get the SL post, but I guess I didn't really deserve it, since I didn't really throw myself into band. Went batch outing after, had lunch at the girls' place (they called it "Our Place"). Went on over to Lido to catch Silent Hill. Yep. Two horror movies in two weeks. Go me. It wasn't really scary though, guess I was numb after Omen. Popcorn did help.

So yeah, interesting week. Here's to a new era in Band history, and the best of luck yo our couples!

Heh.

Just had to make a post. It's late in the morning, I know, but I think I've reached the time in which I won't be able to sleep as easily, so I decided to just do something about it.

A Tempo was great, but I seriously think we could have done better. Awayday was not really satisfactory, but I loved Fairytale and The Incredibles. Can't wait for the recordings to be done. I'll listen to them again and again and again... hah, self vanity.

Just to set the record straight, I DON'T hate Germany, I just don't follow them cos I don't really know about the players, style etc to certify myself to watch their matches... so many apologies to the Germany supporters that I might have offended by mistake. I DON'T hate Germany.

YES my Imperial Guard Codex has finally arrived, along with a couple of other stuff that I requested but never really expected to come so quickly as well. I'm damn happy, finally I can have a game as soon as I finish assembling the models.

Alright all, It's been a long time since I last posted, and I'm guilty of not tellin' you guys where I've been. I was in Korea. And it was awesome. I'll post about it another time, when I'm not feeling so wasted. All I have to say is that thanks a lot for celebrating my birthday three times, people. Really appreciated that, in fact it's the first time someone else other than my family celebrated my birthday like that. Really, really means a lot. Thanks guys.

Imperial Guard Codex taking a looong time to come in. Getting mildly frustrated if you ask me. The Cities of Death expansion looks really neat though.

Went with the batch to Watch "The Omen" today. First thriller I've seen in like, 4 years? Yeah, never saw another horror movie after "The Phone", with the exception of Scary Movie but I think that hardly counts now doesn't it? So it'll be either I die while watching it, or I'll be numb to the horrors. Guess what, I guess I'm still stuck in between. The suspense can kill, but after the shock is over the rest is rather mild. Not a bad film, a bit anti-climatic, and some parts are left kind of unexplained... no, no spoilers.

World Cup is coming! Gee I'm pretty excited about it. I'll be supporting England (cos I'm been supporting them for some time already), Korea (Asian country that stands a chance, their match with Ghana was disappointing though.) and will just be following Germany, I was rather impressed by their play in the last Cup but I'm not too familiar about them yet to be a real supporter.
